Banana bread

Here’s a classic banana bread recipe — moist, flavorful, and perfect for breakfast or a snack.


🍌 Classic Banana Bread

Ingredients (1 loaf)

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter (or coconut oil)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or coconut sugar / alternative sweetener)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional add-ins: 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 1/2 cup chocolate chips, or 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven

  • 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Mix wet ingredients

  • In a large bowl, mash bananas with melted butter.
  • Stir in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla.

3️⃣ Add dry ingredients

  • Sprinkle baking soda and salt over mixture, then fold in flour until just combined.
  • Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.

4️⃣ Bake

  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

5️⃣ Cool & serve

  • Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips

  • Use very ripe bananas — the riper, the sweeter and more flavorful.
  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep bread tender.
  • For extra moisture, brush top with a little melted butter or honey after baking.
