Baked potato

Here’s a classic baked potato recipe 🥔—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.


Ingredients (per potato)

  • 1 large russet potato
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Optional toppings: butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, chives

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    • Set to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare potato:
    • Scrub potato clean and pat dry.
    • Rub with olive oil and sprinkle salt all over.
  3. Bake:
    • Place directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet.
    • Bake 45–60 minutes, until the skin is crisp and a fork easily pierces the potato.
  4. Serve:
    • Slice open the top and fluff the inside with a fork.
    • Add your favorite toppings.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra crispy skin: Rub with a little butter before baking.
  • Quick option: Microwave 5–7 minutes first, then finish in the oven for crispiness.
  • Stuffed potato: Scoop out some flesh, mix with cheese, bacon, and herbs, then return to the skin and bake 10 more minutes.
  • Healthy topping: Greek yogurt, steamed veggies, or salsa instead of sour cream.

I can also give an air fryer baked potato version that’s crispy in less than 40 minutes if you want.
