Baked garlic butter lobster tails

Here’s a simple, restaurant-style baked garlic butter lobster tails recipe 🦞🧄

Ingredients (serves 2–4)

  • 2–4 lobster tails (4–6 oz each)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional but great)
  • 1 tsp paprika (smoked paprika is excellent)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare the lobster tails
    • Using kitchen shears, cut through the top of the shell lengthwise.
    • Gently pull the meat up and rest it on top of the shell (keep the base attached).
  3. Make garlic butter
    • Mix melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, zest, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Season & bake
    • Place lobster tails on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment.
    • Spoon garlic butter generously over the meat.
    • Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the meat is opaque and internal temp reaches 140–145°F (60–63°C).
  5. Finish
    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
    • Serve immediately with lemon wedges and extra melted butter.

Pro Tips

  • Don’t overcook—lobster turns rubbery fast.
  • For extra color, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or Parmesan for a flavor boost.
  • Serve with steakhouse sides: mashed potatoes, asparagus, or garlic bread.
