Baked Beans 🍲

Baked beans are a hearty dish made from slow-cooked Beans in a sweet and savory sauce, often with Tomato sauce, Brown sugar, and spices. They’re popular as a comfort food and a side dish for barbecues and breakfasts.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked Navy beans (or canned beans)
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp Molasses
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 small chopped Onion
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped Bacon for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté the onion until soft.
  3. Add tomato sauce, molasses, brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Add the cooked beans and mix until coated with sauce.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30–40 minutes until thick and bubbling.

Tips for Great Flavor ✨

  • Add a pinch of Paprika or Garlic powder for extra depth.
  • For a smoky taste, add a little Barbecue sauce.
  • Leftovers taste even better the next day as the flavors develop.
