Baked apple fritters

Posted on February 12, 2026 by Admin

Baked Apple Fritters 🍎🍩 — a lighter, oven-baked version of the classic fried treat. Sweet, soft, and full of warm apple-cinnamon flavor without the deep-frying.

Ingredients (Makes 8–10 fritters)

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients:

  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Fruit:

  • 1–2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and finely diced

Optional Glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, combine sugar, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Combine:
    • Stir wet ingredients into dry until just combined.
    • Fold in diced apples.
  5. Form Fritters:
    • Drop spoonfuls of batter onto prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  6. Bake:
    • 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Glaze (Optional):
    • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm fritters.

Tips

  • Use crisp apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith to keep pieces distinct.
  • Don’t overmix batter — fritters should stay light.
  • Sprinkle extra cinnamon-sugar on top if you like a sweet, slightly crunchy coating.

If you want, I can also give a mini version for bite-sized apple fritters that’s perfect for breakfast or snacking.

Do you want me to do that?
