🍎 Baked Apple Fritters (Light & Delicious)
A healthier twist on the classic fried treat—crispy on the outside, soft and sweet inside, with warm apple flavor.
Ingredients (Makes ~12 fritters)
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ÂĽ tsp salt
- ÂĽ cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
- Optional: powdered sugar or glaze for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven:
- 200°C / 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients:
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Mix wet ingredients:
- In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Combine:
- Fold wet ingredients into dry, then gently fold in diced apples.
- Form fritters:
- Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
- Bake:
- Bake 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve:
- Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with glaze, or enjoy as-is.
Tips
- Use tart apples like Granny Smith for balance.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a cozy treat.
