Apple cake

Here’s a moist and flavorful Apple Cake recipe 🍎🎂


Ingredients (for 9×13-inch pan or 8–9-inch round cake)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Optional Glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients
    In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cream butter & sugar
    In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Combine wet & dry
    Alternately add flour mixture and milk to butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Mix until just combined.
  5. Add apples & nuts
    Fold in chopped apples and nuts, if using.
  6. Bake
    Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 40–45 minutes (for 9×13) or 50–55 minutes (for round pan) until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Optional glaze
    Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over cooled cake.

Tips

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for balanced flavor.
  • Can add raisins or shredded coconut for variation.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking for a sweet crust.
