Here’s a classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich—golden, crispy, and melty 🥪🧀


Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients (serves 1–2)

  • 2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
  • 2–3 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favorite)
  • 1–2 tsp butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Prepare bread
    • Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Assemble sandwich
    • Place cheese slices between the unbuttered sides of the bread so the buttered sides are on the outside.
  3. Grill
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
    • Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook 2–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
    • Press lightly with a spatula for even grilling.
  4. Serve
    • Slice in half and serve hot. Optional: with tomato soup or pickles.

Tips & Variations

  • Cheese blend: Mix cheeses (cheddar + mozzarella) for extra gooeyness.
  • Add-ins: Tomatoes, cooked bacon, caramelized onions, or avocado.
  • Crispier crust: Use a bit more butter or a brush of mayonnaise on the outside.
  • Oven version: Bake at 375°F (190°C) on a parchment-lined sheet for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway.
