Ingredients

Instructions

1. Activate Yeast

  • Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 min until foamy.

2. Make Dough

  • Add melted butter, eggs, and salt.
  • Mix in flour gradually to form soft dough.
  • Knead 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

3. First Rise

  • Cover bowl with a towel or plastic wrap.
  • Let dough rise 1–1½ hours until doubled.

4. Shape Donuts

  • Roll dough to ½-inch thickness on floured surface.
  • Use a donut cutter (or 2 round cutters) to cut shapes.
  • Place on a floured tray, cover lightly, let rise 30–45 min.

5. Fry

  • Heat oil to 350°F.
  • Fry donuts 1–2 minutes per side until golden.
  • Remove, drain on paper towels for a few seconds.

6. Sugar Coating

  • While still warm, toss donuts in sugar (or cinnamon sugar).
