Ooo classic Southern? Say no more 🤎
Here’s a true Southern staple—simple, cozy, and guaranteed to make people ask for seconds.

🍑 Classic Southern Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

Filling

  • 4–5 cups sliced peaches (fresh is best, frozen works)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp cornstarch (for thickening)

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix peaches with sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. In a baking dish, pour melted butter.
  4. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk.
👉 Pour batter over butter (do NOT stir).
  5. Spoon peaches evenly over batter (still don’t stir).
  6. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Cool slightly… then serve warm.

Southern Rules (Non-Negotiable 😌)

  • Vanilla ice cream on top 🍨
  • Or heavy cream poured warm-style
  • Crispy edges = best bites

Optional Old-School Twists

  • Swap peaches for blackberries or apples
  • Add a dash of bourbon to the filling 🥃
  • Sprinkle sugar on top halfway for extra crunch

If you want another classic, I’ve got:

  • Banana pudding 🍌
  • Sweet potato pie 🍠
  • Bread pudding w/ vanilla sauce 🍞
  • Pecan pie 🥧

Just say the word.
