🍑 Classic Southern Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
Filling
- 4–5 cups sliced peaches (fresh is best, frozen works)
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp cornstarch (for thickening)
Batter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix peaches with sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Set aside.
- In a baking dish, pour melted butter.
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk.
