Steak marinade

Posted on February 1, 2026 by Admin

Ohhh yes—steak marinade time 🥩🔥. Here are a few tried-and-true marinades depending on the vibe you want. All of these work great for ribeye, sirloin, flank, skirt, or strip steak.

Classic Steakhouse Marinade (Bold & Savory)

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp brown sugar

Marinate: 30 minutes–4 hours
(Perfect for grilling or pan-searing)

Garlic Butter Steak Marinade (Rich & Juicy)

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Marinate: 30 minutes–2 hours
(Great for ribeye or strip)

Sweet & Smoky Steak Marinade

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Marinate: 1–4 hours
(Awesome for flank or skirt steak)

Simple Tenderizer (Minimalist & Powerful)

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • Salt & cracked black pepper

Marinate: 30 minutes–1 hour
(Lets the beef shine)

Pro Marinade Tips

  • Don’t marinate too long (especially with acid) or steak gets mushy
  • Pat steak dry before cooking for better sear
  • Always discard used marinade or boil it before using as sauce
  • Salt right before cooking if marinade already has soy sauce

If you tell me what cut of steak you’re using and how you’re cooking it (grill, cast iron, oven), I’ll dial this in perfectly for you 😏🥩
