Posted on January 28, 2026 by Admin

Ohhh yes 😌 salmon patties—crispy, savory, and pure comfort. Perfect for a quick dinner or lunch leftovers.

🐟 Classic Salmon Patties (Crispy & Easy)

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (14.75 oz) salmon, drained (bones/skin removed if you prefer)
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1–2 tbsp mayonnaise (or mustard)
  • 1 tsp Dijon or yellow mustard
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley or dill

For frying

  • Oil or butter

Instructions

  1. Prep salmon: Flake salmon in a bowl with a fork.
  2. Mix: Add egg, breadcrumbs, onion, mayo, mustard, seasonings, and herbs. Mix gently.
  3. Form patties: Shape into 6–8 patties.
  4. Chill (optional): Refrigerate 10–15 minutes to help them hold together.
  5. Fry: Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and heated through.
  7. Drain briefly and serve hot.

🔥 Pro Tips

  • If mixture feels loose, add more breadcrumbs 1 tbsp at a time.
  • Don’t flip too early—let a crust form.
  • Use butter + oil combo for best flavor.
  • A squeeze of lemon at the end = magic.

🍽️ Serve With

  • Tartar sauce or remoulade
  • Coleslaw or cucumber salad
  • Mashed potatoes or grits

🔄 Variations

  • Southern-style: use crushed saltines
  • Cajun: add Cajun seasoning
  • Fresh salmon version: finely chop cooked salmon instead of canned

If you want, I can give you a sauce pairing, oven-baked version, or a healthy air-fryer method 😏
