🌶️🔥 Loaded Cowboy Butter Jalapeño Popper Crunchwrap Melts

🛒 Ingredients (makes ~4)

For the crunchwrap

  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito size)
  • 4 small tostada shells or crispy tortillas (store‑bought or baked)

Filling

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack
  • 4–6 jalapeños, seeded & diced (keep some seeds if you want heat)
  • 8 oz cooked bacon, chopped (or use pre‑cooked bacon)
  • 1 cup cooked shredded chicken or ground beef (optional but great)

Sauce / butter boost

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro (optional)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika or chili powder
  • Salt & pepper

🍳 Instructions

1) Prep the filling

  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese + shredded cheese + jalapeños + bacon (and chicken/beef if using).
  2. Season lightly with salt & pepper.

2) Make the cowboy butter

  1. Melt butter in a small pan.
  2. Add garlic, smoked paprika/chili powder, and cilantro.
  3. Cook 1–2 min until fragrant. Set aside.

3) Build the Crunchwrap

  1. Lay a large tortilla flat.
  2. Spread a generous layer of the jalapeño popper filling in the center.
  3. Place a crispy tostada shell on top of the filling (this gives the signature crunch).
  4. Spoon a bit more filling over the tostada so everything sticks.
  5. Fold the edges of the tortilla up toward the center, overlapping slightly to make a sealed pocket.

4) Cook it Melty

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium.
  2. Place the crunchwrap seam‑side down.
  3. Brush the top with some of the cowboy butter.
  4. Cook ~3–4 min until golden.
  5. Flip, brush the other side with cowboy butter, cook another 3–4 min until crispy and cheese is melty.

🍽️ Serve With

  • Ranch, sour cream, or chipotle mayo
  • Extra jalapeños or pickled jalapeños
  • Salsa or pico de gallo

🔥 Optional Upgrades

  • Add ranch seasoning to the filling for extra tang
  • Use pepper jack + cheddar for maximum melty spice
  • Drizzle honey on top for sweet + spicy contrast
