Here’s a classic, rich, melt-in-your-mouth fudge recipe—simple and foolproof 🍫


Classic Chocolate Fudge

Ingredients (8×8 pan)

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan
    • Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Cook the base
    • In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, and salt.
    • Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
    • Once boiling, stop stirring and let boil 5 minutes.
  3. Add chocolate & vanilla
    • Remove from heat.
    • Stir in chocolate chips and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Set the fudge
    • Pour into prepared pan and smooth the top.
    • Let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate 1–2 hours until firm.
  5. Cut & serve
    • Cut into squares and enjoy.

Tips for Perfect Fudge

  • Use a heavy-bottom pot to prevent scorching
  • Don’t overcook—boiling longer than 5 minutes makes grainy fudge
  • Stir gently after adding chocolate

  • Nut fudge: add chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Peanut butter fudge: replace chocolate chips with peanut butter
  • Rocky road: add marshmallows and nuts
  • Marbled fudge: swirl in white chocolate
