Instructions
- Preheat oven:
350°F (175°C). Grease a large baking dish. - Make hamburger steaks:
Mix ground beef, crackers, egg, milk, onion, salt, and pepper.
Form into 4–6 oval patties. - Brown patties:
Heat butter in a skillet and brown patties on both sides (don’t cook through). - Layer dish:
