Posted on January 15, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a comforting Crock-Pot Scalloped Potatoes and Ham recipe—creamy, cheesy, and effortless 🥔🧀🍖

🥘 Crock-Pot Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

Serves 4–6

Ingredients

  • 4 cups peeled, thinly sliced potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
  • 2 cups cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 ml) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp paprika (optional)
  • Butter or non-stick spray for greasing the crock pot

Instructions

1. Prep the Crock-Pot

  1. Grease your slow cooker with butter or non-stick spray.

2. Layer Ingredients

  1. Layer half the potatoes in the bottom.
  2. Add half the onions, ham, and garlic.
  3. Sprinkle half the cheese over the top.
  4. Repeat with remaining potatoes, onions, ham, and cheese.

3. Make the Sauce

  1. In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Pour evenly over potato and ham layers.

4. Cook

  1. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until potatoes are tender.
  2. Optional: uncover the last 20–30 minutes and sprinkle extra cheese on top for a bubbly finish.

💡 Tips

  • Cheese variations: Gruyère, Swiss, or mozzarella work well for a different flavor.
  • Add herbs: thyme, parsley, or chives enhance flavor.
  • Make ahead: Assemble the night before and refrigerate, then cook the next day.
  • Texture: Slice potatoes thinly for even cooking.

If you want, I can also give a faster stovetop version of scalloped potatoes and ham that takes under 30 minutes, perfect for busy nights.

Do you want me to do that?
