Here’s a classic, comforting potatoes and onions recipe—crispy on the outside, soft inside 🥔🧅


Skillet Potatoes and Onions

Ingredients

  • 4–5 potatoes, sliced or diced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 tbsp oil or butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • Garlic powder or fresh garlic (optional)

Instructions

  1. Parboil potatoes (optional but great)
    • Boil in salted water 5–7 minutes until just tender. Drain well.
  2. Heat skillet
    • Heat oil or butter over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook potatoes
    • Add potatoes in a single layer. Let cook 4–5 minutes without stirring to brown.
    • Flip and continue until golden.
  4. Add onions
    • Stir in onions and seasonings.
    • Cook 5–7 minutes until onions are soft and caramelized.
  5. Serve hot

Flavor Boosters

  • 🥓 Cook in bacon grease
  • 🧄 Add garlic at the end
  • 🧀 Sprinkle cheese on top
  • 🌿 Finish with parsley or thyme
