Baked apple fritters

🍎 Baked Apple Fritters (Light & Delicious)

A healthier twist on the classic fried treat—crispy on the outside, soft and sweet inside, with warm apple flavor.


Ingredients (Makes ~12 fritters)

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ÂĽ tsp salt
  • ÂĽ cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • Optional: powdered sugar or glaze for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven:
    • 200°C / 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients:
    • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Mix wet ingredients:
    • In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Combine:
    • Fold wet ingredients into dry, then gently fold in diced apples.
  5. Form fritters:
    • Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve:
    • Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with glaze, or enjoy as-is.

Tips

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for balance.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a cozy treat.
