Here’s a comforting Potato Meatball Bake 🥔🍖 — hearty, cheesy, and perfect for an easy family dinner.


Potato Meatball Bake

Ingredients (serves 6):

  • 1½–2 lbs potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 20–24 frozen or homemade meatballs
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1½ cups cream or milk
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer potatoes:
    Spread half the sliced potatoes in the dish. Season lightly with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Add meatballs:
    Place meatballs evenly over potatoes. Sprinkle onion and garlic over the top.
  4. Add remaining potatoes:
    Layer the rest of the potatoes on top. Season again lightly.
  5. Add cream & butter:
    Pour cream evenly over everything. Dot with butter pieces.
  6. Cover & bake:
    Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes.
  7. Add cheese:
    Remove foil, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  8. Finish baking:
    Bake uncovered another 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted, golden, and potatoes are tender.
  9. Rest & serve:
    Let sit 10 minutes before serving.

⭐ Tips:

  • Slice potatoes thin so they cook evenly.
  • Frozen meatballs are a great shortcut.
  • Add a splash of broth if it looks dry during baking.

🔄 Variations:

  • Italian-style: Add marinara sauce instead of cream.
  • Cheesy ranch: Mix cream with ranch seasoning.
  • Vegetable add-in: Add mushrooms or spinach layers.
