Lithops pseudotruncatella is a small succulent plant from the “living stones” group of plants. It’s famous for looking like tiny stones or pebbles to survive in the wild.

🌵 What it is

  • A succulent plant native to southern Africa
  • Part of the genus Lithops, often called “living stones”
  • Its body is made of two thick leaves fused together

🪨 Why it looks like a stone

  • It mimics rocks to avoid being eaten by animals
  • This camouflage helps it survive in dry desert environments

🌸 Flowering

  • Produces a daisy-like flower from the middle slit between its leaves
  • Flowers are usually yellow or white
  • Blooms in late summer or autumn (depending on conditions)

🌞 Care (if grown as a plant)

  • Needs very bright light / full sun
  • Very little water (overwatering kills it easily)
  • Well-draining soil (like cactus mix)
  • Long dry periods between watering are important

🌿 Interesting fact

Lithops can live for many years and slowly “split” into new bodies as they grow.

If you want, I can show how to grow Lithops step-by-step or how to tell it apart from similar succulents.
