šŸ¢šŸ¬ Turtle Candy (Classic Chocolate–Caramel–Pecan Treats)

Sweet, chewy, and crunchy—turtle candies are easy to make at home and don’t need baking.

Ingredients (makes ~12–15 candies)

  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 12 soft caramels (or ½ cup caramel sauce)
  • 1 tbsp milk or cream (if melting caramels)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)

Instructions

  1. Prepare pecans:
    • Line a tray with parchment paper.
    • Arrange 3–4 pecan halves in small clusters (like little turtle legs).
  2. Melt caramel:
    • Microwave caramels with milk/cream in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
    • Spoon caramel over each pecan cluster.
  3. Melt chocolate:
    • Melt chocolate chips in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth.
  4. Assemble turtles:
    • Spoon melted chocolate over the caramel, covering most of it.
  5. Set:
    • Let candies cool at room temperature or refrigerate 15–20 minutes until firm.

Tips

  • Toast pecans lightly for extra flavor 🌰
  • Use dark chocolate for a richer taste
  • Store in an airtight container up to 1 week
