Posted on April 15, 2026 by Admin

๐Ÿงช Uric acid

Uric acid (Uric acid) is a natural waste substance made when your body breaks down purines (found in many foods and also in your own cells).

Normally, it dissolves in blood and is removed through the kidneys in urine.

โš ๏ธ What happens if it is high?

When uric acid builds up in the blood (hyperuricemia), it can form crystals in joints and tissues.

This can cause:

๐Ÿฆถ Gout

Gout

  • Sudden severe joint pain (often big toe)
  • Swelling, redness, heat
  • Painful movement

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Causes of high uric acid

  • Eating too much red meat or organ meat
  • Seafood (sardines, shellfish)
  • Sugary drinks (especially fructose)
  • Alcohol
  • Being overweight
  • Kidney not removing uric acid properly
  • Genetics

๐Ÿฅ— Foods that help lower uric acid

  • Plenty of water ๐Ÿ’ง
  • Low-fat dairy (milk, yogurt)
  • Fruits (especially cherries, citrus)
  • Vegetables
  • Whole grains

๐Ÿšซ Foods to limit

  • Liver, kidney (organ meats)
  • Red meat in excess
  • Fried fast food
  • Soft drinks / sweet juices
  • Alcohol (especially beer)

๐Ÿ’Š Treatment (if needed)

Doctors may use:

  • Allopurinol
  • Febuxostat
  • Pain relievers during attacks

๐Ÿง  Bottom line

Uric acid is normal, but too much can cause gout and painful joint inflammation. Diet, hydration, and sometimes medication help control it.

If you want, I can tell you:
