đŚđ Shrimp and Cod in Creamy Garlic Sauce
A rich, comforting seafood dish thatâs quick to make and full of flavor.
Ingredients (4 servings)
- 250 g (½ lb) shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 400 g (žâ1 lb) cod fillets, cut into chunks
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3â4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- Optional: ½ tsp chili flakes for a slight kick
Instructions
- Prepare seafood:
- Pat shrimp and cod dry, season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Cook cod & shrimp:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Sear cod for 2â3 minutes per side until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
- Quickly sautĂŠ shrimp 1â2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Make sauce:
- In the same skillet, sautĂŠ onion until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in broth and let simmer 2â3 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream, lemon juice, and chili flakes if using. Simmer 3â5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine:
- Return cod and shrimp to the sauce. Cook 2â3 minutes to warm through and coat with sauce.
- Serve:
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with rice, pasta, or crusty bread.
Tips
- Donât overcook the seafoodâshrimp should be pink and cod should flake easily.
- Add a squeeze of extra lemon juice just before serving for brightness.
- You can include vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes for color and flavor.
