🦐🐟 Shrimp and Cod in Creamy Garlic Sauce

A rich, comforting seafood dish that’s quick to make and full of flavor.


Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 250 g (½ lb) shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 400 g (¾–1 lb) cod fillets, cut into chunks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Optional: ½ tsp chili flakes for a slight kick

Instructions

  1. Prepare seafood:
    • Pat shrimp and cod dry, season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook cod & shrimp:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Sear cod for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.
    • Quickly sautĂŠ shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make sauce:
    • In the same skillet, sautĂŠ onion until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Pour in broth and let simmer 2–3 minutes.
    • Stir in heavy cream, lemon juice, and chili flakes if using. Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Combine:
    • Return cod and shrimp to the sauce. Cook 2–3 minutes to warm through and coat with sauce.
  5. Serve:
    • Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with rice, pasta, or crusty bread.

Tips

  • Don’t overcook the seafood—shrimp should be pink and cod should flake easily.
  • Add a squeeze of extra lemon juice just before serving for brightness.
  • You can include vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes for color and flavor.
