Yeah… most people don’t 😄 A dirty oven is one of those “I’ll deal with it later” things until it gets really bad.
If you want the simplest, low-effort way to handle it without dreading the job, try this:
🧽 The lazy but effective method
- Make a quick paste
Mix baking soda + a little water (thick paste). - Spread it and forget it
- Smear it inside the oven (avoid heating elements)
- Leave it for at least a few hours (overnight = best)
- Wipe it off
- Use a damp cloth or sponge
- Most of the grease will come off easily
- Finish with vinegar spray
- Spray some vinegar → it fizzes and lifts leftover grime
- Wipe again and you’re done
🧠 Make it feel easier
- Do it while watching something or listening to music
- Set a 10-minute timer—once you start, it’s never as bad as you think
- You don’t need perfection, just “less gross than before”
⚡ Even easier option
If it’s really bad, use a store-bought oven cleaner (just ventilate well and follow instructions).
Honestly, the hardest part is starting. Once you’ve got that paste on, the oven basically cleans itself while you ignore it.
