Right now, it might help to slow things down just a little and focus on what you need in this moment. Are you with your parents or someone you trust? You don’t have to handle this alone. Being near someone—even just sitting together quietly—can make this a little less isolating.
It’s also okay if your emotions are all over the place or even numb. Shock, disbelief, anger, confusion… all of that is a normal response to something this sudden and painful.
If you feel able, you might gently ask your parents or the police for more details so you’re not left imagining the worst. But only do that when you feel ready.
