Cinnamon sugar croissants with apples in a slow cooker

Posted on April 2, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple way to make cinnamon sugar croissants with apples in a slow cooker—a cozy, sweet breakfast or dessert with minimal effort.

🍏 Ingredients

  • 1 can of crescent roll dough (8 rolls)
  • 1–2 apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 2–3 tbsp butter, melted
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Optional: nuts or raisins

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep the slow cooker: Spray with nonstick cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the apples: Toss apple slices with 1 tbsp sugar and ½ tsp cinnamon. Optional: add a handful of chopped nuts or raisins.
  3. Assemble croissants:
    • Unroll crescent dough and cut each triangle in half if large.
    • Place a few apple slices on each triangle.
    • Roll the dough around the apples, starting from the wide end.
  4. Place in slow cooker: Arrange croissants in a circle, seam side down.
  5. Add topping: Brush with melted butter, then sprinkle remaining cinnamon and sugar evenly.
  6. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours or until golden and fully cooked. Check around 2 hours for doneness.
  7. Serve: Let cool slightly, then serve warm. Optional: drizzle with glaze or icing.

💡 Tips

  • Use firm apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp) so they hold their shape.
  • Avoid opening the lid too often; slow cookers lose heat quickly.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract to the apple filling.

If you want, I can make a shortcut version using pre-made pie filling that’s even faster but just as tasty. Do you want me to do that?
