🦐 Shrimp Scampi (Garlic Butter Shrimp)
Quick, flavorful, and perfect with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
Ingredients (4 servings)
- 450 g (1 lb) shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4–5 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Optional: pinch of chili flakes
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions
- Heat pan:
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat.
- Cook garlic:
- Add garlic (and chili flakes if using). Cook 30 seconds until fragrant (don’t brown).
- Cook shrimp:
- Add shrimp in a single layer.
- Cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Finish:
- Add lemon juice and parsley. Toss gently.
- Remove from heat immediately.
- Serve:
- Serve over pasta, rice, or with bread to soak up the sauce.
Tips
- Don’t overcook shrimp—they cook fast and stay tender when just done.
- Add a splash of pasta water if serving with noodles for a silky sauce.
