Pineapple jam

Posted on January 2, 2026 by Admin

Ah, pineapple jam—sweet, tropical, and perfect on toast, biscuits, or even in desserts. Here’s a simple, homemade recipe:

Pineapple Jam Recipe

(Makes about 2 cups)

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and chopped (about 4 cups)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp grated lemon zest (optional, adds brightness)
  • ½ tsp ground ginger (optional, for a slight zing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pineapple
    • Chop the pineapple into small pieces. For a smoother jam, you can also pulse it a few times in a food processor.
  2. Cook the jam
    • In a large saucepan, combine pineapple, sugar, lemon juice, and zest/ginger if using.
    • Let it sit for 10–15 minutes so the pineapple releases some juice.
  3. Simmer
    • Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves.
    • Reduce heat to low and simmer gently, stirring often, for 30–40 minutes.
    • The jam is ready when it thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  4. Cool and store
    • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
    • Transfer to sterilized jars and store in the fridge for up to 2–3 weeks.

💡 Tips:

  • For a completely smooth jam, use an immersion blender after cooking.
  • You can adjust sweetness by reducing sugar to 1 ½ cups if your pineapple is very ripe.
  • For longer storage, you can process the jars in a hot water bath for 10 minutes to make it shelf-stable.

If you want, I can also give a quick 15-minute stovetop version that’s softer and spreadable immediately—perfect if you’re craving jam fast.

Do you want me to do that?
