Mounds Cake 🍫🥥

Inspired by the classic Mounds bar, this cake is rich, chocolatey, and filled with a sweet coconut center—perfect for coconut lovers!


Ingredients

Cake Layer

  • 1 box Chocolate cake mix (or homemade chocolate cake)
  • Ingredients listed on the box (eggs, oil, water)

Coconut Filling

  • 2 cups Shredded coconut
  • 1 can Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar

Chocolate Topping

  • 1 cup Chocolate chips
  • ½ cup Heavy cream

Instructions

1. Bake the cake

  • Prepare and bake the chocolate cake according to package instructions in a 9×13 pan.
  • Let it cool slightly.

2. Add coconut layer

  • In a bowl, mix shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and powdered sugar.
  • Spread evenly over the warm cake.

3. Make chocolate topping

  • Heat heavy cream until warm (not boiling), then pour over chocolate chips.
  • Stir until smooth to make a ganache.

4. Finish the cake

  • Pour the chocolate ganache over the coconut layer.
  • Let it set before slicing.
