Here’s a teen-friendly Chili Con Carne recipe—hearty, slightly spicy, and easy to make 🌶️🥩


Easy Chili Con Carne

Ingredients (serves 4–6)

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz / 400 g) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz / 425 g) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Cook the meat:
    • In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
    • Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add vegetables and spices:
    • Sauté onion and garlic with the beef for 3–4 minutes.
    • Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add beans and tomatoes:
    • Mix in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and beef broth.
    • Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low.
  4. Simmer:
    • Cover and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    • Adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve:
    • Spoon into bowls and top with cheese, sour cream, or green onions if desired.

Tips & Variations

  • Extra veggies: Add bell peppers, corn, or carrots.
  • Spicy version: Add cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
  • Quick version: Use canned chili beans and premade chili seasoning.
