Here’s a teen-friendly egg roll recipe—crispy outside, savory inside, and fun to make 🥬🥕


Easy Homemade Egg Rolls

Ingredients (makes about 8–10 egg rolls)

  • 8–10 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage (or coleslaw mix)
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 lb ground pork, chicken, or turkey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cook the filling:
    • In a skillet, cook meat until browned.
    • Add garlic, cabbage, carrots, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
    • Cook 3–4 minutes until veggies soften. Let cool slightly.
  2. Fill the wrappers:
    • Place wrapper in a diamond shape.
    • Spoon filling in the center.
    • Fold bottom corner up, fold in sides, then roll tightly.
    • Seal edge with a little water.
  3. Fry:
    • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Fry egg rolls 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  4. Drain & serve:
    • Place on paper towels and serve warm.

Baked Option (Less Oil)

  • Brush egg rolls with oil
  • Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes, turning once

Tips & Variations

  • Use pre-shredded coleslaw mix to save time
  • Add cooked shrimp or skip meat for veggie egg rolls
  • Serve with sweet & sour sauce or soy sauce
