Yes, you can cook **cabbage wedges and raw potatoes in a slow cooker together. It makes a simple, hearty side dish. 🥬🥔

🥬 Slow Cooker Cabbage & Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage, cut into wedges
  • 4–5 potatoes, washed and quartered
  • 1 onion, sliced (optional)
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • 1 cup vegetable broth or chicken broth
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: smoked paprika or bacon for flavor

Instructions

  1. Place the quartered potatoes at the bottom of the slow cooker (they take longer to cook).
  2. Add cabbage wedges on top.
  3. Sprinkle onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Pour broth over the vegetables.
  5. Add butter on top.
  6. Cook:
    • Low: 6–7 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours

Tips

  • If you add bacon, cook it first and sprinkle it on top before serving.
  • Stir gently near the end so the cabbage absorbs the broth.
  • Add carrots or sausage for a fuller meal.

✅ This dish pairs well with roast meat or sausage and becomes soft, flavorful, and slightly buttery after slow cooking.
