Banana Bread 🍌🍞
Banana bread is a soft, moist quick bread made with ripe bananas. It’s a great way to use overripe bananas and works well for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Optional additions:

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans 🌰
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips 🍫
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Set oven to 175Β°C (350Β°F) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas
    In a bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Mix wet ingredients
    Stir in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add dry ingredients
    Mix in baking soda and salt, then gently stir in flour until combined.
  5. Add extras (optional)
    Fold in nuts or chocolate chips.
  6. Bake
    Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool and serve
    Let the bread cool for about 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

Tips for the Best Banana Bread

  • Use very ripe bananas (brown spots = sweeter flavor).
  • Do not overmix the batter or the bread can become dense.
  • For extra moisture, add 2 tablespoons yogurt or sour cream.
