Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

  • 4 cups canned navy or great northern beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4–6 slices bacon, chopped (optional)
  • 1 cup water or broth

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients
    • Drain and rinse beans. Chop onion, garlic, and bacon if using.
  2. Mix in Crock-Pot
    • Combine beans, onion, garlic, ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, mustard, paprika, pepper, and bacon in the slow cooker.
    • Add water or broth and stir well.
  3. Cook
    • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
    • Stir occasionally if possible.
  4. Finish & Serve
