🍖 Slow Cooker Ribs

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2–3 lbs pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper for heat

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare Ribs

  1. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs (for more tenderness).
  2. Cut ribs into 2–3 sections for easier handling.

2️⃣ Make Rub

  1. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne (if using).
  2. Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.

3️⃣ Slow Cook

  1. Place ribs in the slow cooker, stacking if necessary.
  2. Pour apple cider vinegar over the ribs.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until tender.

4️⃣ Add Barbecue Sauce

  1. Brush ribs with barbecue sauce about 30 minutes before finishing cooking.
  2. Optional: For caramelized edges, broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes after slow cooking.

5️⃣ Serve

  • Serve ribs hot with extra barbecue sauce, coleslaw, or baked beans.

  • Flavor boost: Marinate ribs in the rub overnight in the fridge.
