Ingredients (Serves 2–4)

  • 8 oz (225 g) halloumi cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil
  • Optional: 1 tsp smoked paprika, black pepper, or chili flakes
  • Optional for serving: lemon wedges, fresh herbs (parsley, mint), or dipping sauce (tzatziki, honey mustard)

Instructions

1️⃣ Prep halloumi

  • Cut halloumi into bite-sized cubes or sticks.
  • Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture (helps crispiness).

2️⃣ Heat pan

  • Heat olive oil in a non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.

3️⃣ Cook halloumi

  • Add halloumi cubes in a single layer.
  • Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  • Optional: sprinkle with smoked paprika or chili flakes while cooking.

4️⃣ Serve

  • Serve warm with lemon wedges, fresh herbs, or a dipping sauce.

Tips & Variations

  • Oven option: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway.
  • Crispier coating: Lightly dust halloumi with flour or breadcrumbs before frying.
  • Flavor twists: Drizzle with honey, balsamic glaze, or sprinkle za’atar for extra flavor.
