Oven Method
Ingredients
- 1 large potato
- Olive oil or butter
- Salt (and pepper if you like)
Steps
- Heat oven to 220°C / 425°F.
- Wash and dry the potato. Poke it 3–4 times with a fork.
- Rub lightly with oil and sprinkle salt.
- Place directly on the oven rack (or on a tray).
- Bake 45–60 minutes until soft inside (fork slides in easily).
Quick Microwave Method
- Wash, dry, and poke holes in the potato.
- Microwave on high 5 minutes, flip, then 3–5 more minutes.
- Let it rest 1 minute before cutting.
