Ingredients (for 4 servings)

  • 2–3 medium cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 2–3 tablespoons vinegar (white, apple cider, or wine vinegar)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, balances the vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or sunflower oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Slice cucumbers thinly (you can use a mandoline for extra even slices).
  2. Mix vinegar, sugar, oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Toss cucumbers and onion in the dressing.
  4. Add dill if you like, and let it sit for 10–15 minutes for flavors to combine.
  5. Serve chilled—it’s super refreshing!

This salad is perfect with grilled meats, roasted dishes, or Hungarian meals like paprikás krumpli or hurka.
