Baked apple fritters

Posted on February 12, 2026 by Admin

Baked Apple Fritters 🍎🍩 — a lighter, oven-baked version of classic apple fritters. Sweet, soft, and packed with warm apple-cinnamon flavor without frying.

Ingredients (Makes 8–10 fritters)

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients:

  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Fruit:

  • 1–2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and finely diced

Optional Glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:
    • Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
    • In another bowl, combine sugar, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Combine Batter:
    • Fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined.
    • Gently fold in diced apples.
  5. Shape Fritters:
    • Drop spoonfuls of batter onto prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  6. Bake:
    • 15–18 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Optional Glaze:
    • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm fritters.

Tips

  • Use crisp apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp to keep chunks intact.
  • Don’t overmix the batter — fritters stay light and tender.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before baking for a slightly crunchy topping.

I can also give a mini bite-sized version perfect for snacks or breakfast if you want.
